Girls Volleyball raised almost $3,000 at Pink Night on Oct. 9 for a student currently fighting her third battle with cancer.
Before, during and after the game against Alta, the Bengals held a raffle, silent auction and bake sale with all proceeds going to Ashtyn Poulsen. The senior could not attend the event since she is recovering in Seattle after her recent bone marrow transplant.
The Bengal student section supported its team and Ashtyn by wearing pink and cheering loudly from the stands.
The night ended after the volleyball team and crowd sent Ashtyn a heartfelt message to cheer her on with her recovery. “Because you couldn’t be in the crowd, we wanted to bring the crowd to you,” said coach Adam Fernandez. “Look at all the people who love you!”
